A MAN who committed several driving offences and was found with a knife in his possession has been told to do unpaid work in the community.
Meteusz Szulc, 25, appeared in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court with a Polish interpreter after pleading guilty to the offences.
He admitted that he drove a car without having the correct licence on September 6, last year. He also drove without insurance. The offences happened on Monarch Street.
Szulc, of Inver Road in the city's East End, also admitted to having a silver metal locking knife without reasonable excuse or lawful authority.
The court heard from Szulc's defence agent that he took full responsibility for the offences.
Sheriff Gerard Bonnar said: "The court takes any matter involving a knife very seriously."
For driving without the correct licence, Szulc was fined £90. He also received a fine of £180 and eight penalty points for driving without insurance.
In addition, he will complete 90 hours of unpaid work in the community within six months.
