A TEENAGER who assaulted a man while on a tag has been ordered to undergo unpaid work.

Anthony Bowles was at an address on John Street in the city centre, on August 19 when he got into an altercation with another male.

Bowles, 18, of Pollokshaws Road repeatedly kicked and punched his victim, causing him to fall to the floor.

After his friend became involved in a fight with another male, the pair then fled the address.

The victims contacted to police to report the assault and the pair were eventually tracked down.

When being processed by officers, Bowles pretended that he was another male in an attempt to pervert the course of justice.

Further investigation revealed that Bowles was on bail with a tag, restricting him to his home between the hours of 8pm to 7am, when the offence was carried out.

He appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court for sentencing after pleading guilty to the attack.

The court heard how the teenager had moved to Scotland two years ago to pursue a career in the music industry.

It was added that he has no family in the country and a lack of support.

Sheriff Bonner said he was concerned about Bowles “minimising” his behaviour ordered him to undergo 225 hours of unpaid work.
