Calling all Harrow charities!

This is your chance to register for a food donation scheme to help even more people in the community.

FareShare, the national not-for-profit and volunteer-run charity has paired up with Tesco in Harrow Road, to appeal to charities across the borough to teach them about their new food donation scheme.

This food is free and includes fruit, vegetables and bakery products as well as chilled products like meat, cheese and ready meals.

Tesco is now set to extend its Community Food Connection programme to its convenience stores across Harrow.

Groups that can benefit include homeless shelters, substance abuse rehabilitation services, after-school clubs, foodbanks and domestic violence refuges.

Jez Butwell, store director for the Harrow Road superstore, from Tesco said: "We’re so proud to already support local charities and community groups through Community Food Connection from our larger stores in Harrow and to be able to extend that support to our convenience stores is fantastic.

"We are looking forward to forging more strong links with local charities and community groups in Harrow, and supporting their efforts to help more vulnerable people in our community."

Since its launch in February last year, Tesco’s Community Food Connection has helped provide more than five million meals to over 3,300 community groups and charities.
