THE friendly fixture last Sunday against Goodwill Wanderers at Saddlers Mead, ended with a tight win for P&H.
Chris Emmott, three for 31, was the pick of the home bowlers. And Graham Simpson (2) and one each from Sam Norris, Pete Wells and Robin Willis, restricted Goodwill to 166 for 9 off 40 overs, with knocks by Callanan (27), Correa (16), Gregory (23), Jones (47) and Sen (16).
For P&H, star opener Ian Schmid went for a duck in the first over, but Julian Hodge (39), Robin Willis (56 retired) and Chris Emmott (47 not out) steered P&H to 167 for seven with just four balls to spare.
The second team fixture against Stumps was a win for P&H/Victor CC.
Parkfield and Headstone are always happy to welcome new members to their friendly club, especially umpires, scorers, players of any standard, or simply for the social atmosphere.
