Here's a selection of highlights from the huge range of activities taking place in and around Harrow this half term.

THEATRE 

Two shows for the kids are coming to Harrow Arts Centre this half-term. Join CBeebies star Andy Day and his comedy partner Mike James as they go on an adventure of a lifetime, and take you with them in the Tick Tock Time Machine – but will they make it back to the here and now?
October 27

The Selfish Crocodile is the funny tale of a brave little mouse and a very snappy crocodile, based on the best selling picture book by Faustin Charles and Mike Terry.

The Compass has a couple of corkers too, both part of their Pirates and Princesses Week for half-term.

Set sail for fun and adventure with Jim Hawkins, Long John Silver and all their friends in a fun-packed production of Treasure Island. When young Jim Hawkins discovers a secret treasure map, an exciting story starts to unfold.
October 27

It’s bad enough having a bad hair day but pity poor Rapunzel spending her life in a tower with some strange woman using her locks as a step ladder!

This enchanting show promises plenty of body, volume and loads of highlights. Make an appointment to see the show today – because you’re worth it.
November 3

High School Rocks at The Beck is a high-energy, totally interactive production featuring all the very best hits from High School Musical 1, 2, and 3, Hannah Montana, Camp Rock and Glee!

Northwood Community Arts children’s theatre programme presents Merlin and the Frost Dragon, the heroic tale of Merlin using his magical powers to try and save a village from an eternal winter, created by the Frost Dragon. The story is told using fabulous puppetry and magical effects.

DRAMA

Create a play in a week at Harrow Arts Centre. Have fun learning some new drama skills, meet new friends and work together to create your own original performance with a professional director. On Friday we'll invite friends and family to see what you've created.

CRAFTS

There are lots of crafty things to do at Harrow Arts Centre this half-term.

In the Insect Circus Workshop create your own sparkly circus bug and perform some special tricks in the circus tent. Followed by a screening of Pixar's groundbreaking A Bug's Life
October 30 

In the Build-A-Bot workshop make your very own Iron Giant then watch the Warner Bros classic. It is the story of a nine-year-old boy who befriends an alien robot from out of space, as he tries to save him from a paranoid US government agent.

This half term holiday is Pirates and Princesses week at the Compass Theatre and includes the Pirates and Princesses craft workshop where you can create and keep your own specially designed piece of craft in a two-hour workshop. Followed by a screening of the classic Princess Bride.

Come to a fun packed afternoon at this Halloween-themed fundraiser at Cedars Hall for two charities - Kids Can Achieve and ADHD & Autism Support Harrow. Activities include a haunted house, face painting, raffle, food, spooky games and music, as well as a fancy dress competition.

TEENS

100% is a youth project from Harrow Arts Centre that showcases some of the best up and coming musicians and performers around Harrow, run by young people for young people.

This Halloween, the team present 100% Halloween Oxjam, a night of singer-songwriters and bands, with an open mic you can sign up for on the night – all to raise money for Oxfam.
October 27

If your teen has nothing to do this half-term, the HAC 100% producers, all of them teens themselves, have organised loads of great workshops that will keep them entertained, no matter what their interests. They can choose from stage makeup (October 27), song writing (October 29), performance skills (October 30) and costume design (November 1), and for teens with learning disabilities there’s DJ training from October 29 to November 2.

RefugeeYouth invites young people aged 15 to 25 to join them for an arts activity day at Harrow Arts Centre. A fun-packed day with workshops and activities including music and film-making as well as plenty of food and dancing.

SPORT

Come and enjoy all the thrills, spills and excitement of American Super Slam Wrestling - two hours of non-stop action from the best of British and American wrestling stars.

If you love it on TV, you will love it live and unleashed! This is action-packed entertainment for the whole family.

FAYRES

Harrow Museum and Heritage Centre hosts its Autumn Fayre, with stalls for plants, bric-a-brac, cakes and much more. Home-made refreshments will be available.
