Saturday 14th March 2020, 12:25; I should have been listening to Z-Cars blast out over the tannoy system at Vicarage Road whilst Watford walked out to take on Nigel Pearson’s former club, Leicester City. Instead I was sitting on my bed, twiddling my thumbs and stalking my ex-girlfriend’s Facebook feeling sorry for myself.

I didn’t really know how to feel at 5pm on Saturday - Watford had just drawn at home to newly-promoted Sheffield United to remain winless after eight league games.

It’s never dull, is it, this ‘being a Watford fan’ lark? You could say the Zolacoaster that kicked off the Pozzo ownership has never really stopped.

Just how do you top the season which saw us set our record Premier League points total and reach only our second ever FA Cup Final?
