Saturday: Don’t know if I mentioned this before, but I’m building a table and chairs set for the garden. Well just to update you all, I finished the first chair which, by the way, is a beauty. Now I am well on the way with the second, more experimental chair. I’m still collecting wood from the side of the road, much like a Womble, and I drilled into my own thumb the other day in an unfortunate incident. Dry.

Sunday: I have never been much of a charity man but there has been a recent change in me. I’m off to help out at my local homeless shelter, serving dinner this evening to a few dozen people in need. I’ve always been a man who walks past when beggars ask me for cash and I told myself I would give when I have something to give. Well, that time is now – and I’m really looking forward to it. Cold.

Monday: My friend Jim is hosting a 1980s themed house party this weekend. He’s been talking about it for what seems like an eternity but now, at long last, the great day is in sight. Now, costumes are a difficult thing, you have to find the balance between the far too outlandish and wacky and looking like you haven’t bothered at all. It’s a difficult one, any suggestions gladly welcomed. Brighter.
