Watford has been "put on the map" - according to social media users who watched Red Nose Day Actually last night.

Billy (Bill Nighy) was back on Radio Watford with Mikey (Marcus Brigstocke) to promote his new charity single, a cover of ZZ Top's 'Gimme All Your Lovin'' with the word 'lovin' changed to 'money'.

While fans of the Christmas film knew that the late Alan Rickman's character Harry would not be acknowledged and Emma Thompson would not be returning as Karen, they were not expecting Billy's manager Joe to be absent too.

Watford Observer:

Billy and Joe (Gregory Fisher) did not appear together in the Love Actually reboot as the manager was killed off in a cruel twist.

The singer was left to explain his sad departure as he chatted to a Radio Watford presenter in a bid to sell his new single.

When asked why Joe was not with him, he explained he had suffered a heart attack before paying tribute to his friend.

"He was a big man with a big heart," Billy said. "And a big heart attack. And a big coffin. It's a big hole in my life."

Those tuning into the 10-minute reboot were impressed to see the town was given a mention.

"Love seeing that Watford is getting on the map with Radio Watford", one tweeted.

While another added: "Love the fact thatRadio Watford is still a thing".

As a third shared: "The only thing I didn't like about Love Actually was the presenter on Radio Watford wasn't wearing headphones to do his interview?"

It came after viewers were left in tears when Rowan Atkinson reprised his role as Rufus the sales assistant for the iconic gift wrap scene without Alan Rickman.

He could be seen extravagantly packing one young boy's red nose, which was placed in a red box and a clear plastic bag which was filled with jelly beans and yoghurt-coated raisins.

The programme can still be seen on BBC iPlayer.
