Peru have included Watford winger Andre Carrillo in their provisional squad for this summer’s World Cup.

He is one of 24 players named in the selection and is expected to make the cut when a final 23-strong squad is announced ahead of the Monday, June 4 deadline.

Peru’s World Cup campaign commences with a clash with Denmark on June 16 before they complete their Group C games with matches against France (June 21) and Australia (June 26).

Their preparations for the tournament in Russia see them take on Scotland and Saudi Arabia in friendlies before travelling to the World Cup.

Carrillo joined Watford on loan from Benfica last summer and has played 31 games for the Hornets, scoring two goals.

He played a key part in helping his country to the World Cup, featuring in both play-off matches against New Zealand as Peru booked safe passage from qualifying.
