Christian Kabasele has urged Watford to pounce if they detect Manchester United are distracted by the FA Cup final.

The two sides clash in the climax to the Premier League at Old Trafford tomorrow, with the Hornets hoping to claim 10th place by toppling Jose Mourinho's top-flight runners-up.

Seven days later United face Chelsea in the Wembley showpiece and Belgium defender Kabasele believes the prospect of silverware has the potential to make them lose focus.

"We can finish in the top half and it would be great for Watford," Kabasele said.

"United play in the cup final in the next weekend, so maybe they will not go 100 per cent to keep something for the final. You never know, but we need to go there and play for the three points."

Although Watford have achieved their main aim of securing another season in the Premier League, Kabasele believes it has been a campaign scarred by underachievement.

"It's a relief because we wanted to achieve (safety) sooner in the season," he said.

"Unfortunately, we had some bad results - between November and February - but we are relieved because our last game is against United and we didn't want to go there needing points.

"Everybody is motivated to make a good game there. As I said before, it is better to go there and enjoy the 90 minutes of the game.

"And why not finish in the best position for Watford since they came back in the Premier League? So there is something to get in this game and we are all motivated for this."
