Huddersfield take their poor away form to Watford this afternoon with head coach David Wagner telling his men to focus only on their own performance.

Opponents Watford are four games without a win and have tasted victory just twice in their last nine outings.

Town though, have real problems on the road. They have not scored for seven straight league games away from West Yorkshire and will set a new club record of eight if they fail to net at Vicarage Road.

It is for that reason that Wagner is telling his players to ignore Watford's recent struggles, which include the concession of two late goals in a 2-1 loss at Crystal Palace.

"It's an opportunity. If it's a great opportunity - I don't know; it's an opportunity like we've had 17 other opportunities so far this season," he told his club's official website.

"We work on the basis that we are independent from what happened to Watford three days ago.

"We have to be focused on ourselves. We know for sure that they aren't in the best form when you look at the results they got, and we know they have some suspensions and injury problems.

"This isn't our focus, we are focused on ourselves - we are aware that our away record isn't the best so it's time to change something."

The two sides sit in mid-table ahead of the clash and both go into it on the back of defeats - Watford at Palace and Huddersfield at home to champions Chelsea.

And Wagner believes the nature of the Premier League means his men need to prepare to face Watford as though they were Chelsea.

"It's a Premier League game, it's always the same," he said.

"Even if you have the feeling before you meet an opponent that your chances to get a result are slightly higher than against other opponents. It's always the same because you always play for three points.

"This was against Chelsea on Tuesday, the same three days before against Brighton and the same on Saturday against Watford. You have to prepare your players as good as you can for what's in front of them."
