Udinese and Greece goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis will not leave Udinese in the summer, his agent has told the Watford Observer.

The 31-year-old custodian was said to be one of the Hornets' targets for next season, with rumours fueled by his position at the Italian club, which like Watford is owned by the Pozzo family.

But Karnezis' agent denied the possibility that his client, who has 41 caps for Greece, will leave the Dacia Arena at the end of the season.

The Hornets are seeking a new challenger for the number one spot at Vicarage Road with Heurelho Gomes now 36 years old and Costel Pantilimon out of favour.

And they are interested in a move for Sunderland goalkeeper Vito Mannone as one of a number of potential targets.
