Odion Ighalo had the perfect opportunity to score his first goal for new club Changchun Yatai on Saturday - only to see a crucial penalty saved in a 1-0 defeat by Guangzhou R&F.
With the scores at 0-0 just after the hour mark, captain Ighalo stepped up from 12 yards but saw his poor spot kick kept out by home goalkeeper Cheng Yuelei.
Three minutes later, Guangzhou scored the only goal of the game when Junior Urso headed in from a corner.
Ighalo joined Changchun in January from Watford but his new side have endured the worst possible start to the Chinese Super League season - and sit bottom of the division after two games, without a point to their name.
