Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho claims their performance against Watford would have been described as art if someone else had been in charge.

The Red Devils played with a swagger, especially during the first half, as they defeated the Hornets 2-0 to extend their unbeaten Premier League run to 16 games.

Mourinho said: “It was very good. I think it’s the kind of football that if, instead of being a Mourinho team, it’s someone else’s team you’d say it’s art. But because it’s my team you just say it’s very good.

"We played very well and the fans understood. They were behind them and they pushed them. The first half was amazing.

"In the second half we scored the second goal and we had to kill the game. We didn’t kill it with 3-0 but we killed it tactically."

Mourinho did not take Watford lightly and believes his side did an effective job in stopping the visitors from mounting a comeback.

He said: "We closed the game because Watford are a good team. They have good players and are very physical.

"They can be very direct and dangerous so we had to kill the game and the result. But it was a very important three points."
