Singer Connie Francis, who recorded 50s and 60s pop hits including Who's Sorry Now? and Lipstick on Your Collar, remains in a New York hospital after falling ill earlier this week.
Her agent, Mike Church, said she had been scheduled to perform on Wednesday night with Neil Sedaka.
Instead, she was taken to Long Island Jewish Medical Centre with dangerously high blood pressure.
The singer, who is 69, had been expected to leave the coronary care unit on Friday.
Mr Church said "she's doing well", but doctors decided Ms Francis should remain there at least another day for observation.
