A place on the Great Britain Olympic team will be at stake for Harrow Athletics Club ace Adam Bowden tonight when he competes in a specially arranged 3,000m steeplechase event at Woodside Stadium.
The 25-year-old has been handed one final chance by the GB selectors to book his place on the plane for Beijing.
Bowden produced a stunning performance to win the Olympic Trials race in Birmingham on Saturday, but his time of 8.36 was well outside the qualifying time of 8.24.90 to earn automatic selection onto the team.
Bowden is due to run at 8.30pm and will have to set a new personal best to book his Olympic berth.
He has a personal best of 8.28.43 and has a run a season's best of 8.29.52.
Also looking to win a place on the team tonight will be Hayley Yelling who will run in the 10,000m.
