Andy Baddeley will compete at London 2012 after leading the field home at the Aviva London 2012 Olympic Trials over the weekend.

The Harrow Athletic Club member crossed the line first in the 1500m in a time of 3.47.99 to confirm his Olympic date.

Baddeley ran even quicker in the heats (3.46.40) but his performance in the final has ensured he will be in action in Stratford this summer.

The 30-year-old’s display was the undoubted high point for the club at the Birmingham meet with none of the other members making it to a final.

Josh Swaray’s 10.45 was only good enough for sixth in the 100m semi final, while Marilyn Nwawulor (11.85) likewise could only manage sixth in the women’s event.

Nwawulor had produced a season’s best of 11.76 in the heats but was unable to repeat the trick in her next race.

Leroy Slue was also in 100m action but his effort of 10.87 was not enough to escape the heats.

Nwawulor also took in the 100m hurdles but her time of 13.75 could only hand her a third place finish in the heats.

Completing Harrow’s representation was Ben Carne and Andrew Howell but neither of the duo could progress from the heats in the 400m hurdles, finishing in 52.38 and 54.13 respectively.
