Parkfield and Headstone could not repeat their Hertfordshire County Cup win over Met Police Bushey as they were beaten by the Division Five leaders on Saturday.

Parkfield were put into bat first and scored 248 for six from their innings. Avi Kumarasinghe was their best performer hitting 83 for the side.

But Met Police Bushey were determined to avenge last week's defeat and managed to overcome plenty of setbacks and snatch victory with only two wickets and five balls remaining.

In Division Nine, Parkfield Seconds edged to a nail-biting one wicket win over Leverstock Green Thirds.

The hosts were in top form as they bowled Leverstock out for just 116 in the 40th over.

But Parkfield squandered the chance to post an easy win and made life difficult for themselves. Ben Lloyd struck 20 but the rest of the batsmen failed to impress. It was left to the final pair to knock off the required runs for a nervous victory for Parkfield.

The Thirds had fewer problems in their three-wicket win over Cockfosters Fourths. Tight bowling and fielding at Tolpits Lane in Watford restricted the opposition to 138 for eight.

Miren Shah celebrated a half-century by guiding Parkfield to the target for the loss of seven wickets with nine overs to spare.

In a friendly against Hayes on Sunday, Parkfield enjoyed a five-run win.

James Ezzard hit his maiden half-century as he scored 68. Ian Schmid also added 62 for Parkfield as they posted a total of 239 for five.

Hayes put up a brave fight and had their chances but eventually were bowled out just short of the target for 234 with two balls remaining.
