A final round of 71 saw Matt Wallace finish in a tie for 38th place at the BMW SA Open on six-under-par.

After being among the early pace-setters with a four-under-par first round of 68, the Moor Park professional dropped down the leaderboard with a 74, but a third round 69 got him moving back in the right direction at Glendower.

Following a bogey five at the first, Wallace birdied the par five second for the fourth successive round, only to drop back to four-under for the tournament with a bogey four on the third.

Wallace then played par golf until he got back to level par for the day with a birdie four on 13, a trick he repeated on the next par five at 15 to finish the event 15 shots adrift of winner Chris Paisley.

The Pinner golfer is back in action at this week’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship where fellow Moor Park professional Callum Shinkwin is set to get his competitive year underway.
