Bessborough claimed one point after their Middlesex County Cricket League Division Three match against South Hampstead on Saturday was abandoned due to the weather.

The side were in a spot of bother on 50 for four after 15 overs chasing 203 so the outcome could have been significantly worse for the side.

Rohan Desai fared best with figures of four for 33 and the consistent Kilbreeth Rameez took four for 34.

The relegation battle will go to the wire in the final two weeks of the season with Bessborough holding a 13-point advantage over their next opponents Kenton.

The second XI stretched their unbeaten run to five games with a comprehensive 153-run victory over second-placed MTSSC in Division Three.

Batting first Bessborough scored 238 after a shaky start, with number four bat Saghar Tanoli top scoring with 63 and Gihan Pallage adding a handy 42.

Their opponents collapsed in reply as they were dismissed for 85 in 19 overs.

Overseas star Urooj Ahmed bagged incredible figures of five for 15 from just 3.4 overs.

Debutant Obaid Ur-Rehman picked up 2-20 and the side’s leading wicket taker Faisal Tanoli added another two to make it 19 for the season.
