Wealdstone were held to a 2-2 draw by local rivals St Albans as the Stones missed several chances to pick up their opening National League South win of the season.
The Stones struck the crossbar twice in the opening minutes before an awful mix-up at the back allowed Dipo Akinyemi to square for Junior Morias to tap home a simple opener.
Elliot Benyon grabbed his second goal in his first two Wealdstone games a couple of minutes later, but they were again pegged back five minutes after half-time when Louie Theophanous smashed beyond Jonathan North.
But Wealdstone were not done, and Ricky Wellard's equally powerful effort, with 65 minutes on the clock, drew them level again from the edge of the box.
With the match in the balance, Tom Cadmore should have sealed a last-gasp victory for the Stones in injury time, but he blazed over at the death to see the spoils shared.
One dampener on the match forthe Stones was the loss of Wes Parker and David Hunt to injury, with the pair both facing significant lay-offs.
Wealdstone: North, Oshodi, McLeod-Urquhart, Parker (Hamblin 56), Cadmore, Hunt (Godfrey 36), Whichelow (Kabba 76), Green, Benyon, Wellard, Williams
Unused: Hutchinson, Brown.
