Bradley Hudson-Odoi’s last-gasp equaliser earnt Wealdstone a 4-4 draw and a point at home to Basingstoke Town on Saturday with the Stones twice two goals behind.

Gordon Bartlett’s men had been on the other side of the coin recently, blowing a four-goal lead to draw at home to Truro City at the beginning of the month.

The Stones made the ideal start at The Vale as Matty Harriott opened the scoring after four minutes with a 25-yard strike.

However, Liam Enver-Marum levelled five minutes later for the visitors to undo the hosts’ good work.

Manny Williams the put Basingstoke in front for the first time in the 22nd minute with a goal similar to their first, rifling home a loose ball.

Jack Deaman headed in the third just before half time when he connected with a corner to the far post and the game appeared to be over.

In fact it was just getting started and Johnny Wright halved the deficit on the hour, lashing in off the post.

Just five minutes later Basingstoke had a two-goal buffer once more as Glen Southam struck.

Harriott got his second with 16 minutes remaining to haul the Stones back into the contest with a deflected effort.

Williams, scorer of the visitors’ second, would ultimately cost his side when he refused to be substituted.

With six minutes of injury time partially due to his reluctance to leave the field, Stones took full advantage and Hudson-Odoi netted in injury time to clinch a point for Bartlett’s mean.
