There was final-ball drama as Sharuban Kanthasamy took the wicket which ensured Bessborough clinched a tie with Harrow Town in the Middlesex County Cricket League on Saturday.

Inserted, Bessborough made a far-from-ideal start when Jigar Shah (one) was dismissed early. And Rishi Patel (five) soon followed to leave Bessborough on 14 for two.

However, Ishan Shah (52) and Ian Barrie (73) combined well to re-build the innings, adding 127 for the third wicket to put Bessborough firmly back on track.

Hemmen Jutla (43) and Sherrick Chavda (21) then put on a good sixth-wicket stand to nudge Bessborough up to a good total of 218 all out.

Neal Patel (four for 53) and Kanthasamy (three for 51) got stuck into the Harrow line-up early on, taking a wicket apiece.

However, a defiant 91 from Rusak Jaleel ensured Harrow would not make life easy for Bessborough as they eventually reached 103 for three.

The sides came off for rain with just 20 overs of the second innings bowled but when they returned Roham Karkhanis (three for 57) took charge of proceedings.

Patel and Kanthasamy returned to the crease in what proved a masterstroke by skipper Karkhanis.

The duo put on a miserly spell of bowling, forcing the contest to go down to the wire.

Two dot-ball Yorkers kept the game alive and the nerves on edge but Kanthasamy delivered the final blow to rip out the middle stump and Harrow, remarkably, were all out for 218 also.

In Division Three, Bessborough Seconds could only draw with Wycombe House.

The Thirds trounced Finchley Fourths by 199 runs in the Middlesex League 1987 Division Two.

Finally, the Fourths beat Turnham Green & Polytechnic Fourths by eight wickets in Division Five.

West Harrow Seconds maintained their good run with a 110-run thrashing of G.W.R.

Having declared on 208 for seven, Harrow skittled out their opponents for just 98 in 19 overs.

West Harrow Thirds snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against Wembley Fifths, sealing a dramatic two-run win.
