Bessborough ended their losing run with a four-wicket win over Barnes in Middlesex Division Three on Saturday.

After winning the toss, Barnes were put into bat and Sharuban Kanthasamy picked up an early wicket.

Bessborough always felt in control with the introduction of spin bowlers Rohan Karkhanis and Mitesh Vyas who were backed up by a strong performance in the field.

Captain Karkhanis led from the front picking up a season’s best five for 68 from 16 overs as Barnes were eventually skittled for 219 in 51 overs.

Bessborough openers Kushal Patel and Ishan Shah got off to a great start putting on 76 for the first wicket.

Patel went past 350 runs for the season in his innings of 64.

When Patel was dismissed, the Bessborough innings wobbled slightly and it was left to wicket-keeper Jigar Shah to take charge and deliver an important knock of 88.

With Bessborough reduced to 158 for six, Shah found an able partner in Neal Patel and the pair helped the side reach the target with 15 overs to spare.
