Wealdstone boss Gordon Bartlett has boosted his squad with the signing of Dunstable Town's former Reading midfielder Scott Davies.

Davies, 26, has made more than 160 appearances in the Football League with a string of clubs before sliding down the league pyramid.

Stones manager Bartlett said: "We are very pleased to have signed Scott as there there were several other clubs in for him.

"We have brought him in with a view to the future but he is an experienced player with plenty of pro' football under his belt; Scott has a good passing range and can also score goals and this can only assist our continued progress this season in the Conference South."

The former Republic of Ireland Under-21 cap made a total of five appearances for the Royals in ten years in Berkshire, whilst taking in loan stints at Aldershot Town, Wycombe Wanderers and Bristol Rovers.

Upon leaving the Madjeski Stadium in 2011, Davies joined Sussex side Crawley Town, making 22 appearances for the League Two side in just over two years.

A switch to League Two rivals Oxford United followed in March 2013 but Davies made just 17 league starts for the U's - the same number as he made from the substitute's bench.

The 5ft 11in midfielder, who was born in Aylesbury, played his youth football with Watford and Wycombe Wanderers before joining Reading in 2011.
