Harrow Borough earned their first win in eight weeks after edging to a 4-3 home win over Hampton & Richmond Borough on Tuesday night.
The hosts opened the scoring after 25 minutes when Shaun Lucien headed in Rob Wolleaston’s cross.
It got even better ten minutes before the break when visiting keeper Rodney Chiweshe made a mess of a corner and Danny Leech made sure the ball crossed the line.
Charlie Moone pulled one back before the break for Hampton.
The Reds made it 3-1 after 51 minutes when Michael Peacock headed in Garry Jones’ corner.
Dave Anderson’s side added another goal in the 77th minute when Simeon Akinola was fouled in the area and Jones converted the penalty.
Any hopes of a comfortable victory were dispelled after a spirited fightback from the visitors.
Mo Bettamer pulled one back before Gary Holloway set up a tense finish but the hosts held on for the three points.
It was a much-needed result for the Reds after they were beaten 1-0 at the death by Leiston at the weekend.
Akinola had a great opportunity to fire the visitors in front but his effort was saved by Shaun Phillips.
It looked like Boro would come away with a hard-earned point until the ball bounced off Peacock and into his own net in the 89th minute.
