Wealdstone have signed former Watford teenager Kurtney Brooks.

The 18-year-old midfielder impressed Stones boss Gordon Bartlett during several pre-season friendlies and has been rewarded with a deal to remain at Grosvenor Vale. Brooks progressed through the Hornets' academy and made his first-team debut last year against Barnet in the Carling Cup.

Brooks, who plays for Wales Under-19s, was released by Watford earlier this summer but has made the short move to Wealdstone providing a boost to their Ryman Premier promotion hopes.

Meanwhile, defender Rob Fitzgerald has left the club after moving to Uxbridge. He made 24 appearances for the Stones including 14 in the league.

In other news, Wealdstone have announced Connect Vending Limited as their new main sponsors in a three-year agreement worth a five figure sum each season.

Stones chairman Howard Krais said: "We are thrilled to sign this major deal with Connect Vending. To be able to agree a deal of this nature, in this economic climate, is a major vote of confidence in what we are doing. We hope that this new partnership will prove mutually beneficial and will see the club go on to success on and off the field."
