The agent of Stefano Sturaro says Watford are among the leading candidates to sign the Juventus midfielder.
Speaking to Portuguese outlet A Bola Carlos Vapi revealed the Hornets have joined Sporting Lisbon at the front of the queue to sign his player.
He said: “Sporting and Watford are the strongest candidates.”
Other reports emanating from Portugal claim Watford are pushing harder for the 25-year-old due to the time constraints of the early closing English transfer window.
It is even claimed Watford have made an approach to take the Juve man, who the Turin club value at €20 million, on loan before completing a permanent deal.
