Al Nassr have confirmed the signing of Watford’s Nordin Amrabat, with the Moroccan signing a three-year deal with the Saudi Arabian club.

The Hornets are yet to announce the move, but look set to gain a fee in the region of £4m for the winger according to reports.

Amrabat has been linked with an exit from Vicarage Road for the last week, having spent last season on loan with Leganes, where he scored three goals in 35 appearances in all competitions, helping the Spanish side secure a 17th place finish in La Liga.

He was one of Morocco’s best performers at the World Cup last month and played in each of their three games at the tournament, but couldn’t prevent them from being knocked out in the group stages.

Amrabat did, however, hit the bar with a superb strike in Morocco’s last match against Spain and caused controversy by criticising the video assistant referee system after the final whistle had blown.

The Moroccan international joined the Golden Boys from Malaga in January 2016 but failed to establish himself in the side under Quique Sanchez Flores, with the Spaniard largely deploying him from the bench during his first six months in Hertfordshire.

But Amrabat’s patience was rewarded the following campaign by Walter Mazzarri, with the winger becoming a regular in the side under the Italian, who utilised him as a wing-back for most of the campaign.

Having made 29 appearances under Mazzarri, Amrabat would then start the first four games under Marco Silva last season, before then being loaned out to Leganes after the English transfer window had closed, a decision which angered the Portuguese head coach at the time.

But despite his strong showing at the World Cup, Amrabat’s Watford career looks set to be over after Al Nassr announced his arrival earlier this afternoon.

The 31-year-old leaves Vicarage Road having made 48 appearances for the Hornets in all competitions and said he was "happy and excited with my adventure" in a post on Twitter.
