Javi Gracia says he is unconcerned by a lack of goal output form his strikers and insists he cares little which players find the net for Watford.

Abdoulaye Doucoure leads the Watford scoring charts with seven goals from midfield, while Troy Deeney, Andre Gray and Stefano Okaka have just 11 between them all season.

While Gracia accepts the lack of goals from his attacking options is unusual, he chooses to focus on the bigger picture rather than who is on the scoresheet for Watford.

He said: “It depends on many situations. For sure a team usually has the strikers as their top scorers, but in this moment I prefer to feel all the team are concentrated on the next game.

“I don’t mind who is going to score, whether it is a striker or midfielder, but we will see.

“We try to improve our attacking because we do not want to depend only on Doucoure or a striker, we need to do all the things well.”

Doucoure’s return has seen him add goals to his game this term after scoring just once in the entirety of the 2016/17 campaign.

Despite this change in the Frenchman’s output, Gracia says he is far from surprised by the fact Doucoure is leading the way in front of goal for the Hornets.

He said: “I am not surprised because I think he can score goals, but maybe in another season you can find other players with more goals than Doucoure.

“It is not important for me who scores the goal, it is about getting our target.”
