Fresh from a controversial FA Cup outing on Monday night, Anthony Taylor will take charge of Watford’s meeting with Everton on Saturday.

Taylor split opinion among pundits after dismissing Fabian Delph for a studs-up challenge late in the first half of Wigan’s shock 1-0 defeat of the runaway Premier League leaders.

Having initially reached for a yellow card, Taylor changed his mind and gave the England international his marching orders.

It was the third red card Taylor has brandished in 26 outings this season and he has also reached for the yellow on 99 occasions.

He has been the man in the middle for two Watford games this season and they have both been high-scoring affairs.

Firstly, the Hornets produced late drama to draw 3-3 with Liverpool on the opening day of the season before going down to a 6-0 loss at the hands of Manchester City in September.

The high-scoring theme continues from the 2016/17 campaign, which saw Watford beat Everton 3-2 and lose 4-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in games refereed by Taylor.
