Watford’s Under-23s made light work of a trip to Dartford as they eased to a 3-0 win over Millwall in the Professional Development League.

A strong attacking display saw Dion Pereira, Harvey Bradbury and Dennon Lewis get on target for the young Hornets as they ended a run of six games without a defeat.

It took just 14 minutes for the Golden Boys to take the lead as Pereira and Bradbury, not for the final time in the match, linked up well.

Last season’s Young Player of the Year worked the ball out wide to Bradbury who returned an instant pass to Pereira and he calmly finished.

Watford held their advantage until the interval before pushing on and making the points safe to climb above Millwall in the table.

Hayden Mullins’ side gave themselves breathing space with 66 minutes played as Bradbury turned from provider to scorer to make it 2-0.

The striker, who is the son of former Manchester City player Lee, got up well from Lewis’ corner to nod in the second.

Any lingering doubts the points were in the bag were put to bed in the 90th minute when Lewis raced clear and slotted home to make it 3-0.

The victory is sure to provide a timely confidence boost for Watford’s young charges who are back in action at home against Cardiff City in a week’s time.
