Stefano Okaka has not trained with Watford this week but is not injured, Javi Gracia has stated.
The Watford striker had looked set to leave Vicarage Road before the transfer window with Fulham, Malaga and Galatasaray all mooted destinations, but no move transpired.
The Hornets boss had previously said Okaka was still looking for a move to another club, but he was again not in the squad for this afternoon’s 2-0 defeat at West Ham United despite Gracia having only 17 senior players available.
“It’s another situation,” the head coach said when asked about the striker’s absence. “This week he was out of the training, he was out of the team. Maybe next week he will be with us, but at this moment I can’t say anything else.”
Asked if he was injured, Gracia responded: “No.”
