Watford’s comeback kids have been at it again after they battled back from behind to claim a draw for the second time in four days.

While the Hornets’ Under-23’s 3-3 draw with Coventry City wasn’t quite of the magnitude of their exploits at Bristol City – Hayden Mullins' side were 4-0 down after 23 minutes, but were level at the break before going on to finish a remarkble game 5-5 – they still had to retrieve a 3-1 deficit with an hour gone at London Colney this lunchtime.

Dion Pereira had given the home side the lead, but the Sky Blues were level at the break through Jordan Brown and then took control with goals early in the second half from Sion Green and Billy Stedman.

Fresh from scoring a debut hat-trick on Tuesday, 16-year-old striker Ryan Cassidy made it four in two games before Pereira levelled up with 10 minutes to go with his second of the game.

Indeed, the Hornets almost completed the turnaround at the death, but Dennon Lewis saw his effort cleared off the line.

Watford Under-23s: Howes; Eleftheriou, Jones, Ryan, Kaikay; Sesay, Stewart, Charles, Pereira; Cassidy, Lewis. Substitutes: Gartside, Tricker, Stray, Adedeji, Cruz-Cabrera.
