Tom Cleverley and Younes Kaboul have returned to training, while a number of Watford’s other injured players are making positive strides in their recoveries according to the Hornets.
Further to Javi Gacia’s first press conference as head coach yesterday where it was revealed Troy Deeney hasn’t trained all week due to illness, Heurelho Gomes and Molla Wague are both out of tomorrow’s FA Cup fourth round trip to Southampton and Cleverley faces a late fitness test, the Hornets have posted a further medical update on their website.
In addition to Cleverley and Kaboul, Miguel Britos, Kiko Femenia and Will Hughes are “progressing well” after assessments yesterday. All three have started pitch rehabilitation and Hughes is “on course” to back in full training in the next two weeks.
Craig Cathcart is set to back in full training next week after sustaining a “small setback”, while Nathaniel Chalobah has been continuing his recovery from a fractured knee cap at England’s St George’s Park base and should return to London Colney soon.
