Andre Carrillo insists Watford have no concerns about being dragged into a relegation fight, despite taking just one point from their last five games.

Huddersfield Town ruthlessly exploited the Hornets to run out 4-1 winners at Vicarage Road in what Marco Silva described his side’s worst performance of the season.

The defeat means Watford, while still sitting ninth in the table, are just seven points clear of the drop zone, but Carrillo remains confident they will turn things around.

“No, we are not worried. At the moment we are working very hard and working in the right way, so relegation doesn’t concern us,” Carrillo said.

“Of course we had a negative run in the last few games, but we know that the team is working towards being able to get better results.

“We haven’t been good enough and we need to try and get back to winning ways soon.”

The manner of Saturday’s performance will be as concerning as the result itself, with Watford producing an abysmal display, especially defensively.

Silva was far from impressed with his side and Carrillo mirrored the head coach’s mood and he admitted the main emotion in the Watford dressing room was one of anger.

“Of course he (Silva) is angry when you don’t win and he is not the only one who is angry. We all are and that happens when you don’t get results,” he said.

“We are very sad because of the result but we know it is only three points and it’s not the end of the world. We have to try and get three points again as soon as possible.”
