Lightning Abobaker Eisa is starting to make a name for himself at Wealdstone, with his dramatic late winner to seal a 2-1 win against Whitehawk on Saturday the latest mark on his rise since joining from Uxbridge in the summer.

The winger netted in the 88th minute, finishing off an old-fashioned route one goal to send the 953-strong Non League Day crowd home delighted.

Whitehawk had led through Kyjuon Marsh-Brown in the first half, but Danny Green levelled up from the penalty spot.

Eisa, an early substitute, then turned the game on its head with 90 seconsd to go to wipe away memories of a 1-0 defeat at Burgess Hill in the FA Cup last weekend.

Manager Bobby Wilkinson made seven changes from that limp cup exit - one was enforced, with Sam Cox missing with the small matter of captaining Guyana.

Whitehawk, fresh from a managerial change, were eager to impress and could have led twice before Marsh-Brown opened the scoring but found Jonathan North too tough to beat.

But they did edge in front when the midfielder battled beyond Glenn Wilson and his low, curling effort found the far corner.

With Alan O'Brien hobbling off before the interval, Eisa's enforced introduction made an immediate difference as his pace harried the visiting defence.

After the break the hosts looked much more lively, and were handed a perfect chance to level when Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick was felled by Aji Ajibola, who argued - with some credence - he might have won the ball.

Danny Green then sent the giant frame of Simon Jorgensen the wrong way from the spot.

Kodi Lyons-Foster tested North as the Hawks pressed, but it was Wealdstone who would wrap up a late victory.

Jorgenson's goal kick was powerfully returned forwards by Jerome Okimo, who raced onto the ball before slotting under the body of the diving keeper and celebrating with a rapturous home support.

Wealdstone: North, Wilson (Brown 81), Sellers, Hill, Day, Williams, Hippolyte-Patrick, Okimo, Fitchett (Goodger 55), Green, O’Brien (Eisa 36).

Not used: Wellard, Ngamvoulou.
