Harrow bounced back from their FA Cup exit to Enfield and league mauling by Hendon with a 2-2 draw at home to Merstham on Saturday, where they showed character to twice bounce back from behind at Earlsmead.

Merstham's early domination was rewarded when former Borough striker Sehr Kabba set up Ryan Hall to slot home, but new boy Reis Stanislaus levelled for the hosts before half-time.

A long delay at the break, caused by an injury to the referee, did not deter the visitors from continuing their dominance when the game finally restarted, and they re-took the lead when Ryan Hall's inswinging free-kick had the beating of everyone before nestling in the corner.

But Adam Richards would have the last laugh four minutes from the end, heading in Kurtis Cumberbatch's corner to earn a share of the spoils.

With Will Turl and Howard Hall injured in last week's defeat at Enfield, Steve Baker made three changes to his line-up, with Arinse Uade and new signing Stanislaus brought in, after starring in Hendon's demolition of Borough a fortnight ago, as well as fell debutant Taurean Roberts.

A Merstham corner caused chaos early on and they forged a couple of early chances before Charles Banya had the ball taken off his foot by visiting goalkeeper Chris Haigh.

Kabba, perhaps with a point to prove, was proving dangerous and saw a snap-shot blocked before he set-up Hall for the opener, having deceived Melvin Minter before passing across to his team-mate.

Banya had again been thwarted by Haigh just before the hosts equalised, and the goalkeeper was largely to blame for letting the visitors' lead slip.

A high ball forward drew him to the edge of his box only to realise he would have no choice but to handle it outside the area, and after attempting to chest it clear found Stanislaus, who side-stepped a defender and fired home for a gift of a debut goal.

Youssef Bamba struck the outside of the post for Merstham as they came close to a half-time lead, but the two sides went in level.

The referee's whistle at the interval would be his last involvement, and without a qualified official in the stands, when one of his assistants replaced him it left one half of the pitch ungoverned without a replacement to run the line.

Merstham could have gone back in front before they did, but on the hour mark had their second when Hall's free-kick got the better of Minter and his defence.

Finally Harrow looked like the team who had started the league so brightly, and pressed hard for an equaliser.

But only in the 86th minute did they find it, when Richards nodded Cumberbatch's delivery in beyong Haigh.

The Borough are back in action tonight as they travel to Staines Town.
