A lot has changed in a month at Wealdstone - a plethora of new signings, the club's first managerial change in two decades - but, since the first day of the season, still no sign of a worrying decline in form abating.

While near enough everything else had already been altered, the Stones finally began looking like turning round their dreadful start to the season with a comfortable 3-0 win over Bognor Regis Town on Saturday.

New manager Bobby Wilkinson had been left embarrassed and apologetic after a 5-1 thumping in the week at Weston-super-Mare, and a nervy first-half did little to calm his nerves until Danny Green broke the deadlock at Grosvenor Vale with a wicked swerving 30-yard free kick.

Wilkinson's men had led in two of their four games under his stewardship without managing to see out a victory, and so a slender lead at the break was far from enough to breed any complacency.

But the Stones' fragile confidence did appear on the up from the moment the second half began - Rocks keeper Dan Lincoln kept out strikes from Eddie Oshodi and Dan Fitchett as they looked for a valuable second goal.

Chad Fielding was inches away from taking the wind out of the hosts' sails but cannoned an effort against the post and away to safety, before Wealdstone struck again with 19 minutes to go.

Ryan Sellers, not renowned for his goalscoring instinct, was played in by Jerome Okimo, and cut inside before hitting a swerving shot which, for the second time in the game, left Lincoln helpless.

Ciaron Brown made it three to ensure victory in the final minutes, heading home a Green corner to round off a thoroughly impressive afternoon at the Vale.

The Stones have the perfect opportunity to add a second win in three days tonight as Poole Town visit west London, with the visitors on a run of six games without a win.
