The likes of Etienne Capoue and Sebastian Prodl have had to be patient already this season with Watford's strengthened squad at either end of the pitch making game-time a premium for some players accustomed to starting more regularly.

For Prodl, the return of Younes Kaboul from injury and abandonment of last year's 3-5-2 left him fighting for two slots among a congested defensive against Liverpool last weekend, and he was an unused substitute in Marco Silva's opening Premier League game.

Capoue has seen little game time either, but used his 11-minute cameo yesterday to good effect, scoring the second of Watford's two goals at Bournemouth.

Nathaniel Chalobah, who has near-enough taken the Frenchman's place in the starting 11, said after the game that there were no hard feelings in the squad, though - and that everyone was on board with the Hornets' bright start.

"It’s a good feeling to be part of it and giving the best that you can for the team," he said. "Days like this when you get the results, like last week, there’s togetherness building up and that’s important.

"It’s important to feel part of that and I think even the lads that aren’t involved and haven’t been involved, there’s smiles in the changing room and everyone’s positive. We just have to keep going with the way things are."
