Watford will be hoping history does not repeat itself on the south coast as Roger East takes charge of their Clash with AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

The 52-year-old sent off Ben Watson when taking charge of the Hornets’ trip to Southampton last season, a match which ended in a 1-1 draw.

East took charge of three of Watford’s games last season and they followed up the clash with the Saints with a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough and 3-0 loss to Leicester City.

The Wiltshire-based official brandished a total of 140 yellow and five red cards in 33 outings last season and Saturday’s match will be his first in the top flight this term.

His only action so far this campaign saw East take charge of Bradford’s 2-1 League One opening day win over Blackpool.
