Wealdstone put on in the eye over Hungerford Town with a 3-0 win at Grosvenor Vale on Saturday, and could do so again should they sneak into the play-offs ahead of their ground regulation-plagued visitors.

Both Hungerford and Poole Town face appeal hearings on Wednesday to determine whether they will be able to enter the National League South play-offs or not.

At present, seventh-placed Hampton and Richmond will take the final spot in the four-way tournament for promotion, while Wealdstone could pip them to the post if they better their result on the final day of the season next week.

On the pitch this week, they went ahead early through Dan Fitchett, who kept up his impressive scoring form since moving from Sutton United last month.

They doubled their advantge when Matt Day could only put the ball into his own net, and nine minutes after half-time had a third through Dagenham loanee Joe White.

The Stones could have had more against the sixth-placed side but found Lewis Ward in the away goal in fine form.

A final-day trip to East Thurrock could determine Wealdstone's fate for the season, assuming Hungerford and Poole see their appeals thrown out, while Hampton and Richmond, who sit a place above Gordon Bartlett's side, host Concord Rangers.

Wealdstone: North, Oshodi, Sellers, Brown, Hamblin, Green, Wright (Wellard 78), Cox, Fitchett (Benyon 85), White, Whichelow (Mavila 83).
