Watford are among three teams interested in signing Middlesbrough’s Marten De Roon, reports claim.
The 26-year-old central midfielder has impressed in his maiden Premier League season, in spite of his Boro’s struggles which see them languishing in 19th in the table.
The Hornets are likely to have to battle for the Dutchman’s signature, however, with both Southampton and Bournemouth interested.
With relegation looming large for Boro, De Roon is believed to be monitoring his options and is said to be eager to secure top flight football next season.
Midfield could well be an area the Hornets look to strengthen in the summer, with the combative Valon Behrami being strongly linked with a move to his native Switzerland.
De Roon arrived on Teeside from Atalanta last summer for £12m and has made 28 Premier League appearances, scoring three goals.
He started his career with Eredivisie side Heerenveen where he spent three years before making his move to Italy in 2015.
