A second long trip to the West Country in a week was, again, a profitable one for Wealdstone, who owed much of their good fortune to an end-to-end 60 seconds in their 2-1 win at Truro.

With the scores goalless shortly before the half-hour mark, Wes Parker headed a City chance off his own line, a clearance which sparked a Stones attack and ended with Joe White opening the scoring for the visitors with a third goal in four games.

The first half belonged to Wealdstone but at half-time the score did not; an unfortunate defensive error saw Ciaron Brown's clearance deflect off a bobble and towards the welcoming boots of Jamie Richards, who levelled up with a simple finish.

Truro remained pumped up by their equaliser even after the break, and Tyler Harvey went close for the White Tigers before the Stones started to claw their way back in.

The injured Parker was replaced with Omar Koroma and led to a positional re-shuffle. It proved a move which freshened up the Wealdstone attacking line, and the substitute crashed a header against the crossbar as they continued their improvement.

Their quality from set-pieces was not a flash in the pan - Tom Hamblin connected with another flag kick at the far post before bundling in a winner, in front of a sizeable 100-plus crowd who had taken the long trip to Cornwall.

It sealed a sixth-straight win for the Stones, one which leaves them seven points off the play-offs - and looking increasingly capable of mouting a late-season run into the top five.

On Saturday, Chelmsford City will stand in their way, with the visitors currently occupying one of those priceless spots.
