Watford FC has confirmed to the Watford Observer that it will absorb the full costs relating to the production of Graham Taylor’s statue at Vicarage Road.

The Watford Observer is pleased to provide further clarity on this matter, and therefore encourages all readers and Hornets’ supporters that donations in Graham’s honour should continue to be made to his family’s chosen charity, the National Memorial Arboretum, via the specific online web page www.love2donate.co.uk/gtaylor.

The club also confirmed that a statue project working party is being formed, which will move forward by making initial contact with supporter representatives and industry specialists to ensure a fitting tribute to Watford’s greatest-ever manager is brought to life.

As with all previous arrangements, Taylor’s family will be consulted at every step.

The plans for the statue were announced last week when the Hornets also confirmed a pre-season tribute fixture to Taylor will take place at Vicarage Road ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
