Watford midfielder Adlene Guedioura played the whole game in Algeria's opening 2-2 draw against Zimbabwe at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez fired Algeria into the lead before goals from Kudakwashe Mahachi and Nyasha Mushekwi handed Zimbabwe the lead.
But Mahrez's long-range strike in the 82nd minute rescued a point from Algeria's first match in Group B.
Guedioura, who is the only Watford player away in the competition, will try to help his side to their first win on Thursday when Algeria take on Tunisia.
