Watford head coach Walter Mazzarri believes it is vital to have at least four strikers competing for a place in the side and is happy with his options in attack.

The Italian brought on Isaac Success and debutant Stefano Okaka during the win at West Ham United on Saturday while Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo both scored.

There was no room in the squad for former Liverpool forward Jerome Sinclair and the Hornets are undoubtedly in a position of strength up front especially compared with last season.

Speaking on Saturday, Mazzarri said: “The main reason [strikers were replaced] was because Deeney and Ighalo were extremely tired. They played and ran for the whole game.

"Nowadays in football you need at least four strikers at a very similar level so for me it was very important for them [Success and Okaka] to play. Okaka even scored one goal but unfortunately it was disallowed."

Okaka picked up a muscular injury at the end of the match and could be a doubt for the visit of Manchester United this Sunday.
