Watford defender Tommie Hoban has agreed a season-long loan move to Blackburn Rovers.

The 22-year-old will spend the campaign with the Championship club although the Hornets can recall him in January.

Hoban made his first appearance for Watford since April 2015 as he played the whole match of their EFL Cup defeat to Gillingham on Tuesday.

But the defender is down the pecking order in Walter Mazzarri's squad with Younes Kaboul the latest arrival at Vicarage Road.

The Watford academy graduate has made 58 appearances in the first team and will now spend the season playing at Ewood Park for Owen Coyle's team.
