Walter Mazzarri admits he will not have a major role in deciding whether Matej Vydra leaves the club.
Watford received an offer from Derby County for the Czech Republic international striker although it is has yet to be accepted.
Vydra played during Tuesday's defeat to Gillingham and received a strong reception from the home supporters but his future remains up in the air.
Head coach Mazzarri said: "I’ve had a little input in this but it really is the club that decides. They take up the opportunities they have with players and I would like to concentrate on this after the game with Arsenal.
“He’s a good player. I respect him and gave him an opportunity when he played on Tuesday. He played very well but of course could have been more consistent.
"Those are my choices to choose the players that played the game but I don’t want to get involved in the market."
