Wealdstone goalkeeper Jonathan North has agreed a new contract to remain with the National League South club next season.

The former Watford keeper has just completed his sixth season at the Stones and consistently impressed after returning from a knee operation during the last campaign.

Wealdstone manager Gordon Bartlett said: "With Jon missing four months of last season after a knee operation this is like signing a new player. Jon is an outstanding goalkeeper who has been an integral part of the Wealdstone family since his arrival from Watford six seasons ago.

"We strongly believe that he is one of the best in non league football and more importantly by committing his future, Jon thinks we are on the verge of something very positive as we head towards the new campaign."

Club CEO Mark Winkworth said: "Everyone at Wealdstone looks forward to Jonathan's continued contribution to the club. He is a major part of the spine of the team, a player whose presence in goal gives confidence to the rest of the team.

"He is simply one of the best goalkeepers in non-league football. I firmly believe Jonathan will be a key factor in the club's future success and of the team's plans for many years to come."
